Back to School 2026-2027

This year, we aren’t just handing out backpacks; we’re giving families the joy and dignity of choosing their own. In early August 2026, Blue Bayside Foundation will take underserved Baltimore families on a personalized shopping trip to hand-pick the exact supplies their children need. With the cost of a full supply list now reaching $150 to $300 per child, this trip ensures that students are walking into class with the specific tools required for their success. Your contribution of any amount will go directly into the hands of a local parent, empowering them to prepare their child for the 2026–2027 school year with pride and together we will buy the supplies their kids needs for the new school year!

• Maryland Tax-Free Week 2026: August 9–15, 2026.
  • Savings: During this week, we will take the families shopping and skip the 6% sales tax on clothing and footwear ($100 or less).
  • Backpacks: While many school supplies are still taxed, the first $40 of a backpack is typically exempt.
